Terms of service

A structural draft: the sections it will contain, and the facts each must reflect.

What this document will cover

1. The service
What DevByte does: runs agent Sessions against repositories you connect, produces Artifacts and pull requests, and records the Gates and Evidence for each change.
2. Your account and your organisation
Organisation and project roles, who may approve a Gate, and what an administrator can do.
3. Your content
Your repositories, issues and documents remain yours. The clause has to state what we may do with them and for how long, and it will be narrower than the technical capability.
4. Acceptable use
What the platform may not be pointed at.
5. Third-party services
The model providers, hosting and tooling a Session depends on, listed on the subprocessors page.
6. Availability
What we do and do not commit to. There is no service level agreement today; the status page is external.
7. Fees
Empty by necessity — the metering unit is not chosen, so there is nothing here to state.
8. Warranties, liability and indemnities
The clauses a reviewer reads first, and the clauses we will not draft ourselves.
9. Term and termination
How either side ends the agreement and what happens to your data when they do.
10. Changes, governing law and notices
How this document changes and how you are told.

Facts these terms have to reflect

These are true of the system today and any drafted version has to remain consistent with them:

  • An agent never merges a change. A person clears a Reviewing Gate, and the approval records who cleared it.
  • A Session has no direct route to the internet; model calls and write-backs go through the control plane.
  • Factory configuration lives in the platform rather than in your repository, so a change in your repository cannot alter what the platform is permitted to do.
  • Usage recording is forward-only from 28 September 2026, and an unreported Phase is unknown rather than zero.

Where to ask

Contact Sales for the executed version. If one does not exist yet, you will be told that rather than sent a draft with the banner removed.
